Betsy DeVos, Department of Education, and Insights on Cuba

This past week Betsy DeVos became our 11th U.S. Secretary of Education.  This week also included Congressman Thomas Massie introduction of a bill to abolish the federal Department of Education. Should the federal government be involved in education, regulating standardization, curriculum, and bathroom policies? Since the founding of the federal Department of Education, funding has increased while performance scores have remained flat.  In addition, our education institutions are rejecting science in the name of feelings, mandating bathroom policies at our local public schools..  Is education too big to fail now? Gordon Riddle Pennington, world traveler and cultural enthusiast, also joins us to discuss his travels to Cuba, and insights on their culture and if Raúl Castro’s regimen will change anything.

About CP:
Cross Politic (Christ over politics) mixes the taboo formula of faith, culture, and politics in order to bring the clarity of the gospel into muddle-American.  We are a community of Christians who desire to see the Lordship of Christ in every corner of our culture, reigning over every politician, and changing every individual for our good and His glory.
