Alright we are trying to find ways in our tight schedules to bring you more content. Occasionally we are going to do a five minute mid-week debrief. For this first Five Minute Fix, we discuss a recent survey that found 79 percent of Americans are comfortable with a female priest or pastor. The Blaze picked this story up, and the research came from Barna. You can find the Blaze article here.
Wow! I know women who are Anglican priests and deacons, ministers in the Evangelical Covenant Church, and a retired Methodist minister. They all received calls from God to the ordained ministry that had nothing whatsoever to do with stepping up to the plate because no men were available. Men and women can both serve beside one another in ordained ministry or in separate churches. Both sexes have unique gifts in preaching, counseling, evangelism, chaplaincy, and administering the sacraments that the church needs. Encouraging women to serve as priests, deacons, and ministers, in no way detracts from encouraging more men to do the same.
